Surveillance Technology act as consultants to the casino industry in the
area of gaming risk, or more specifically, the risk posed by professional
advantage players.
The company was founded by Michael Barnett in Perth, Western
Australia over thirty years ago to provide an electronic surveillance
and counter-surveillance service to the corporate sector.
Our involvement with the casino industry started sixteen
years ago when we were asked to design hardware capable of detecting concealed
microcomputers.
Our work on detectors
led us to develop the 'Scorpion' card-counting computer which was primarily
designed to prove the effectiveness of our range of detectors.
As a result of international
publicity over the 'Scorpion' we were contacted by one of the world’s
most successful gambling syndicates with a view to co-developing more
sophisticated devices.
As a direct result of this relationship, Michael Barnett
became an investor in advantage play operations and managed a large team
of players.
Over the next five years Michael Barnett won several million
dollars for his syndicate from a variety of games - blackjack, baccarat,
keno, video keno, video poker and more recently, roulette.
A gaming risk consultant is only as effective as his knowledge
is current. For this reason we make no excuses for still being actively
involved when legal advantage play opportunities are presented
